Detail, work-in-progress
Just a little preview... Cats are still a recurring theme (and will always be, I have a feeling). ... and we will be at another craft fair/Christmas market this weekend: the Salerno Christmas Market on Saturday, December 7th, from 10am to 3pm. With these paintings (and bigger ones), beautiful crocheted, knitted and sewn items (made by my sister Anke, my friend Ashla and myself), the Jumbo books and more!
I am having fun working on tiny canvases. These and others will be available at the Moycullen Craft Fair, which takes place this Sunday, December 1st, from 1pm until 6pm in Áras Uilinn and the Halla Mór. We will also be selling the Jumbo book (see last post) and lots of knitted, crocheted and sewn items made by my sister, my friend Ashla from the NUI Galway Knit and Crochet Group and myself.
Long Walk, Galway. Watercolour pencils on paper - work in progress And oh, what fun it is! I am enjoying drawing details such as ropes and chains. This is the first in a series of Galway illustrations I have embarked on (no pun intended).
Almost finished with these illustrations. To get a better overview, I printed them out in small and taped them together. I love things in miniature; I have a feeling my next project will be a mini picture book in this format, rolled up or folded together.
The website for Múscailt 2013 'Merriment and Whatnot' is now live: www.muscailt.nuigalway.ie I will have a tiny (Update: 10 pieces, so not that tiny - there was more wall space than we thought) exhibition in the DERI Café in the IDA Business Park in Lower Dangan (across from the Westwood Hotel), and my students will exhibit their work on campus: Other artists exhibiting for Múscailt include Conor Gallagher, Nick Danziger and Robin Jones, and of course there are plenty of other events (see website for details, or pick up a printed programme)!
Edited to add: Portal will be up for a month, until March 4! Edited again to add: My exhibition will also be up for a month, until March 1! Update: the DERI café is open 8.30am-4pm Monday-Thursday and 8.30am-3.30pm Friday. P.S.: We are now on Twitter: @Muscailtarts and @Artsandtheatre 1. Artwork drying on the kitchen floor
